79 degrees before sun up. Wierd foggy haze. Had to run wipers all the way to work. This weekend sucked and is a taste of what this week will be like. Time to reload in the basement.

It's about the same here, 81 degrees at 8:30 add the humidity and it feels like 100 degrees.

Still a foggy haze today at sun up. I think the plants that got the rain are making the humidity (steam)

Today is going to be a repeat of yesterday. I've hardly been out of the house since Sunday. Just can't take the heat like I used to.

I didn't think it was as hot and humid starting out this morning as it was yesterday but I'm sure it'll get there.

Funny is that right now it is not too bad. 86 and overcast with no steam.

Raining right now. Weatherman is a buffoon. Today is the Hawken Classic at Daniel Boones home in LeFemme MO. Big doings. I sour graped it due to 3 hour drive and heat and nobody will go with me. It is hard being a Mountain Man these days.

An unexpected rain early this morning. 1 4/10" and 75° I emptied the gauge and it started raining again. Already another 2.25" in it and it's supposed to continue raining most of the day. There was a lot of run-off so hopefully my pond is up.

Whats awful is when it never gets cool at night and its 78 degrees at 5 am. If a guy was camping then that would be a toss and turn night.

Ran the beagles a couple hours this morning. Clouds of pollen blowing off the ragweed.
We are already dry since we missed these last rains. Looks like no more chances for at least a week or more.
Farmers got combines out and ready to start on corn. Lots of them here have contracts with Tyson to provide corn for feed. They can get by with 16% to 17% moisture selling to them without getting docked. Kinda have to wonder if the cutback in chicken production will effect local farmers.

I think the cut back affects us all. The USDA ordered 10 million chickens destroyed and 250 of them had the bird virus. If you eat one it does you no harm. Big loss out there in the grocery but it's coming back.
Some farmers will bin their grain and run their dryers. I hate listening to them all the time.
Funny how the corn went from green to brown in one week. I think that 110 degrees helped.
Historically we have had a rainy season after Labor Day. I dont know anymore what will happen.

Tyson has cut back production and closed a couple of plants due to the drop in demand. I found that unusua as .like you said krank, they had destroyed millions due to bird flu. Maybe folks don't trust them for food.

I dont see any milo this year. The elevator wont buy milo and farmers sell direct to poultry farm Great feed as it doesnt require grinding.

Milo makes great small game habitat/food and deer love it too. Don't see much of it around here anymore either. This dry year would have been perfect for it.

Milo is great feed. Small enough to feed straight and double the yield of corn. Dusty as hell to combine. Problem is that it is stock feed and not human food. We used to stand in front of the combine off to the side and shoot rabbits as we saw them down the rows. Dad said dont shoot the combine. 45 years later and them days are gone.
