My name is Alan Koch. I live in Palmyra, MO and am a Jr. High Science Teacher and coach football and baseball. I am an avid outdoorsman. I caught the hunting and trapping bug early in my life and have never been cured, or want to be cured. I don't lay as much steel as I used to in my HS and college days, but still manage to livetrap coon and run water lines over my Christmas break. My real passion is chasing ringtails with my Mtn. Curs. I have a 7 year old son, who also has the same bug as me (Guess it is contagious) ha. This board is fantastic. I love being able to share my trapping and hunting experiences with others as well as here helpful hints and stories from others. I enjoy talking to other trappers, it is a fraternity that is close knit and helpful to beginners.

I am from Pilot Grove small town of 800 just south of I-70 in central Missouri. Lived on a farm all of my life and love to hunt, fish, and trap. I am currently a Junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia majoring in Fisheries/Wildlife and Forestry, which leaves me with only weekends and breaks to do the things I really want to do (i.e. hunt/trap). This is only the 2nd year my brother and I have been real serious into trapping. Last year we did pretty well so we doubled our trap inventory and are going to be full throttle once we both get on break!

my name is sam turner. i am 35 yrs. old and have 3 sons. i work with the public and trapping and hunting is my peace and quiet time. i have been trapping on and of for about 6 yrs. i gcaught the bug from my grandfather. he didn't get to teach me much because he had health problems before we really got started. so i'm trying to carry on the family tradition. not that i really do that good but it's better then sitting in the house.

I'm Jake, 26, Live near an old town that washed out way before i was born. Can't remember living anywhere else, will always be my home. After high school i went into the Marines, came out in nov 04. Somewhat new to trapping, but my years of playing in the woods, catching crawdads, and not having a nintendo have done me good. Don't run long lines just something i can check before work( and i have a leniant boss i can be late if i make up the time). It's upsetting not to have a catch but on a short line expected after a couple days. Going out when its raining or colder than hell stinks, but afterward even if i have no fur i feel good.

after reading all these, which took a LONG time, great to get to know some of you, i realized i have not let you all know who I am as well.
My Name is Big Joshua Jones. I live in Sarcoxie, MO which is about 18 miles east of Joplin and about 38 miles west of Springfield just off I 44. I have been Married to the most beautiful woman on the face of this earth, Tonya and been married 10 years, be 11 years on the 3rd of January. We have 2 Awesome Boys, Aidan which is 4 and Micah which is 15 months. We are HUGE Iowa Hawkeye Fans as my wife and i were born and raised in Iowa.
We are believers in Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the Cross, Died to give us Life if we only accept Him into our heart and life. we must Pray and be serious in order for Him to come in. I myself am a lay preacher soon to be an Associate Pastor as we are selling our home and business and moving to the Ashville, NC area but will probably live in South Carolina near spartanburg, Cheaper to live in SC.
My wife and I own/operate a A All Animal Control Franchise in SW MO and cover just over 70 mile radius around our home. I have been in the field of Wildlife Control work for 7 years straight now, with 4.5 of those years, Full Time.
I started fur trapping almost 20 years ago while living in NW iowa, have trapped in the bean/corn fields where hardly any trees existed, targeting mink, coon, 'rats, fox, and badgers. then went to Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, IA for 3.5 years and trapped east side of Des Moines/Ankeny IA area. All my family on my dad's side is from just over the MO border in Decatur County and it was there i learned to catch coyotes in numbers. I love to trap mink and fox, but do love coons and coyotes. I have been cabling coyotes for more than 16 years and Love to talk CR's with people and love to teach trappers to be effective in using the CR. Currently we are working on a CR video for Missouri and other states that are allowed to use them.
Trapping is a major part of my family, my grandpa was great friends with Bill Nelson and i am a 3rd generation trapper, my dad and i trapped together every year until he passed away nearly 4 years ago now. miss him greatly, have a picture of him holding a coon and smiling, next to my bed. I am a trapper. I trap for a living and trap fur for my hobby.
