Hey all, been on here awhile but have never "officially" introduced myself here on this link...so here goes....
My name is Chris Brennan. Married to my lovely wife, Suzy, for 3 and a half years. Have two little ones, Connor 2 1/2 and Matthew 6 months. I have only recently(2000) started hunting. Have fished my entire life. I served in the Navy from 92-96 and have been in the Missouri Air National Guard since 96 as an air traffic controller. I have always been interested in the outdoors. Trapping is just another way to get involved in the outdoors with the kids. I'd like to know where they're at a 6 am (running traps/in the deer stand etc) then not knowing....ya' know? Anyway, I try to get involved and add a little bit here and there. But mainly, as my board name implies, I'm here to become a futuretrapper....
thanks, Chris

Robert Searcy, First and Foremost I am a believer. One of those Baptist that has to eat everytime we gather. If any of you need prayer please share. I am currently in the middle of a crisis with a home that I moved from that I have not been able to sell for over a year. I have lowered the 50K less than what it appraised for 3 years ago so add that to your prayer list.
I live near Kingsville, MO my folks still live on the Farm up north of Cameron, MO where I grew up trapping the grindstone creek that runs through our farm. I caught rat, mink, coon, beaver only. Never used anything but a #11 for all of them in pocket sets. Never used a coil spring or conibear in my life.
I have been married to the same woman for 17 yrs, 3 kids, girl 13, boy 9 and a surprise daughter of 3 ( best thing that ever happened ). She homeschools them, I help a little with the field trips, science projects and history stuff.
My primary job is working on computers for Sprint in Kansas City. I grew up simple working hard and poor. I have since improved my lifestyle but the roots remain and the lessons still keep me grounded. My mom helped me run my traps when I accidently took a Homelite to my leg at 14. Over 100 stitches later and I was back in business. Slipped on a muddy creek bank and tore out about half the stitches, my DR was very mad and said next time I rip them out, I was going to have to sew them up myself so that is when mom jumped into action. I ran all my traps on a kawasaki 100 motorcycle with a milk crate strapped on the back. I only used a stick to whack things in the head that had not drowned in my sets. I had one occassion where a coon decided to resurrect himself and jumped on my back while driving back to the house, that was interesting.
I attended DeVry in Kansas City right out of high school and was recruited to South Dakota for work, then Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Montana then back to Missouri. I took the scenic route.
I love to hunt turkey and recently in the past few years have found I love goose hunting. Goose taste really good too. I have a Fox Red lab who loves to hunt them as much. Deer hunting is okay but anyone can get a deer with a rifle, bow hunting is more challenging but takes a lot of time and with 3 kids that makes it difficult.
Fishing is fine if they are biting!! I enjoy taking the kids more than anything and seeing their excitement. That is priceless!!!
I love trapping, I have missed the cold mornings, the muddy creeks, the dirty job of it all from setting to skinning and fleshing, the pleasure of seeing success at your set when walking up on it etc..........we have to be insane as its definately not the money that makes it appealing.
I love old antiques, nostalgia and the roots that we come from as a culture. I have horses that I have trained to hitch and pull a buggy around. I also have found that my oldest daughter and I have that connection with riding them so we can take off and have some great father/daughter time together.
My wife and daughter both love to turkey hunt in the Spring. Its become a family thing for us. My son has finally expressed interest to looks like he will be going next year. I dont push my kids just let them choose for themselves. IF they do commit though I hold them to it.
Blessings,
Robert

Hi my name is Todd Deppe born and raised in Missouri. I lived most of my life in Owensville but now I live in Cuba. I started trapping about 7 years ago getting some traps from my grandpa (he trapped the gasconade river years ago) that hung in the basement getting no use. So I asked him if I sould use a couple and it grew from there. I got out of it for a while but I'm back and very happy. I am far from being a full fledged trapper but I am willing to learn from others. I would love to have someone go with me to set a trap line and see how they do it. I am married to a smokin hot women and have 2 wonderful childdren one boy and one girl the boy is only 3 but loves to see what I bring home when I go out hunting, fishing or trapping. Hopefully he will follow in my footsteps in wildlife managment

Hello everyone, my name is TJ McCubbin. I am 23 yrs old and have lived in central MO my whole life. I started huntin and fishin when i was 4, i started trapping in high school after i found some old victor #1's in my great grandfathers shed. Growing up he would always tell me huntin fishin and trapping stories. I have owned two bluticks, two redticks and a walker hound. My great grandfathers grandpa(i am pretty sure it was his grandpa, or great grandpa) originated the walker coonhounds. I have a beautifull girlfriend, Melissa, who likes to go hunting with me. She set her own traps by herself this year and i havent ever seen anyone so happy to catch a possum! lol We go jugg fishin about every weekend in the summer and we also like froggin! I have a great froggin pond, they almost jump in the boat, but i need to figure out how to catch the otter i seen in there before he takes all my frogs. I also have a beautifull 4 year old daughter, Lillian. She went deer huntin for the first time this year! She did good til we seen a doe and she started screaming "Theres a deer, shoot the deer daddy" Needless to say it ran off! She has run traps with me for two years now and loves the raccoons and possums and tells me that she wants to catch a bobcat! I work 10 hour days at a local steel factory(i caught my first two red foxes this year in a creek behind my work) where i run machinery. I drive an 83 chevy 3/4 ton that is a rustbucket and gets bad gas milage, but it gets me to the woods and home so i keep drivin it. I think i have said too much so hope yall had a good season.

My name is Brogan Lair i am 20 years old i was born and raised on a pretty good sized farm in the hills in the North West corner of Missouri (Rock Port). Been hunting all my life since i was a lil guy deer hunting is the best. I just started bow hunting bout 5 years ago and i would much rather do that than rifle hunt but i like the super long shots with the rifle. No one in my family has ever trapped before or bow hunted so i started my 15 year old brother on both and we are really good buds now cant catch us apart. I am not married no girlfriend, thats a plus so i get to keep all of my money for now. I am a farmer so i have a ton of land to trap from the mighty mo river bottom to the hills where i live bout 10,000 acres too many of course . Well thats my story been great reading bout all of you fellas

Howdy folks, Just signed up the other day so thought I would introduce myself to the crowd. Let me see where to start, name is Steve Painter, not George W. by the handle. ;D Been trappin prolly for over 25 years now. Love thinking about it but am 46 years old now and not a morning person, hard to get up in the morning, but still run some traps most years. Although did take about 3 or 4 year hiatias from the trapping, because to busy at work. Really like bobcats, fox and mink, they are prolly the favs. Turned the trapping hobby into a full time business in 1989. I own Catch-It Wildlife & Pest Control, Inc. here in the Kansas City metro area. Been a very good business, but the employees, how the employees............................ Some are great and some are...............well!!! Anyways like to fish to, mostly catfish and some crappie in the spring. Love fishing the Missouri and Grand Rivers for cats. Deer hunting, love it. Also pretty much an avid birdwatcher. Have travelled all over the USA and other countries. Birded alot in Mexico and some in Venezuala and the Dominique Republic. Total life list so far is a little over 700 birds. OK so thats it, enough about me WHO'S NEXT?
