Hello, Been watching this forum with interest. A new trapper and teaching my Grandson age 9 at the same time. got laid up with a heart attack in December so it cut things short this season. But right now we have a trail cam set out. Grandson is practicing his dirt hole construction (without a trap) and we are catching the Yotes on film. Got a video of one working a hole. He gets his nose so far down the hole to steal the bait that we have learned how important it is to have a deep hole to make them work it longer. I will post it when I figure out the correct way to link it.

Hi everyone my name is Rick Littleton I live in Prestonsburg, Ky. with my wife and 6 year old grand child. I am the president of The Outdoorsman Youth Club a non-profit club that helps teach kids about the great outdoors. We started the club with 14 kids and 4 officers back in 2006 now we have over 75 kids involved in the club. Most of these kids come from broken homes with no one to teach them about the great outdoors. I also am a volunteer hunter safety instructor for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. Some of the kids in the club want to try out trapping next season, this will be the first time in 20 years that I have help put out a line I hope I remember what I am doing. I know a lot of thing have changed over the years and I am sure that I will need some help along the way. If I can be of any help to any one on here feel free to ask and I will do my best to help you. Thank you and god bless. Rick.

Hello - My name is Keith Donaldson. I live north of Green Ridge,MO in District 7. I am a lifetime member of the MTA and have been trapping every year since 1994 - so about 15 years. I graduated from NWMSU with a degree in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology. I then worked for MDC for a period of 5 years and later completed my MS in Warrensburg, MO. I studied raccoon capture, damage, etc.....in my published thesis "An Evaluation of 2 foothold restraining devices used to capture raccoons in drowning sets". Currently I work as a federal government employee for USDA-APHIS-Wildlife Services. I am extremely blessed to have a job in which I get to do many things outdoorsmen dream of. I give all the credit to my saviour, Jesus Christ. Oh and yes, I am stubborn, hard headed, and opinionated and will argue and disagree - just know that does not mean I don't dislike you.....ask my lovely wife Sarah.

Zac Bauer. I live in south STL County. I was introduced to trapping a few years back by a friend of Charlie Browns. Both of them gave me a lot of advice to get started.
I'm going to concentrate on Coons and Coyote this year on a family farm down in Texas County. I usually keep what I catch and have the pelts tanned. I have 11 tanned beaver pelts in the closet right now that will one day be made into a coat for my wife. Maybe I'll sell what I get this year to pay for the coat.
I'm also a vet. Infantry.

Jason Shires here. Found this site while I was crusing around the internet. I live in Ohio, but originally from Otterville/Florence Mo. area. Did a bit of trapping when I was a kid out there and this year decided to get back into it out here. Lots of good info here to keep me busy reading.

Hey fellow trappers I'm Terry Truett and I live on my 337 acre farm in the big town of Bromide, Oklahoma (pop. 164!! LOL) I've trapped off and on for over 30 yrs when work would permitt mainly coons and coyotes, but the last 6 yrs I started working on catching cats as well. The last 3 years I have trapped the full trapping seasons since I had to medically retire due to 3 major lower back surgeries. I can't walk alot like i used to and I have to have something to help me get up and down when i set traps, but it don't stop me!! I still love to bow hunt with a crossbow, wild hog hunt, I reload and go fishing. I meet my wonderful wife in 9th grade and we married right after we graduated. We have been married 28 yrs and have 2 sons, 1 grandson (8) 1 granddaughter (5) and another grandson that will be born in Nov. I have really enjoyed this site and the guys here!! There a bunch of very nice helpful trappers here and I look forward to learning more as time goes on.

I am Terry Edmonds from SW Virginia. I am 40 years old, father of three teens. My oldest son is 18 and I have boy/girl twins 15. Got started in trapping back when I was 15 that was an offshoot from coon hunting. Always have been a hunting and fishing fan and I love to hunt for ginseng when at all possible. I turned 18 in 1987 in Fort Benning GA first week of basic training. (happy b-day yeah right) I was an Light Infantry rifle squad leader, combat lifesaver, and nuclear biological chemical warfare specialist also. After that I took a break for awhile and then rejoined two more times ending up as a drill sgt. Was stationed in alot of different places and enjoyed for the most part all of it. One of those things where you just wouldn't trade the experience for nothing. My youngest son has gotten me interested in trapping again. He mainly hunts but I just happened to bring up trapping and now his eyes lit up. To be honest it didn't take long for that urge to get going in me either. We hope to get some fox and coons. The yotes are getting popular in Virginia now as well. Of course we all know the possums and skunks are around. As I had stated earlier in another post, I just couldn't find anything close to what you all have going for you here. You should all be proud that you have such a great group of people here. I also seen a post that I was number 800 to join this site. That is really neat. The information I am getting here is wonderful. Look forward to posting with some good folks. My season starts the 15 of this month and we are getting our things together and can't wait to hit the line once again. Terry

Hi, My name is Bob Buffington I have been in Missouri all my life I'm 47 married with 3 sons 27, 23, 20. I started trapping in 1976 and trapped almost every season up to 1981. Then I went in the army spent 3 years in and never relay got back into trapping. So just recently my son Sean 23 asked if I would show him how to trap so here we are and eager to go. We live in St. Peters Mo. in St. Charles co. We are always eager for tips, any help things like that. We spend most of our time with his race car. Sean has a dirt track modified we raced out at Montgomery County Speedway. We love hunting, trapping, fishing trout lines and racing.
