Feels more like April than almost November this morning. Got the windows open and a fan going. Supposed to be up in the 70's this coming weekend with lows in the mid 50's and rain.

It's super windy here again today! It was a waste of time sitting in my climbing deer stand yesterday afternoon. Didn't see a dang thing. It was upper 70's then but today it's 46° with a high of 54 when the sun shines this afternoon. Got another 1/2" of rain overnight.

We ended up with inch and half of rain here, much needed.
Sounds like the weather during first part of gun deer season should be about right. Haven't decided if I want to buy a tag or not. I get bored waiting for one to show up lol.

Opening day for Pheasant in Western Kansas is predicted to be 21 at sun up and high of 40. Better not leave the brass monkey out. It will be windy. It is always windy out there.

Just a trace of precipitation here in the Hannibal-New London area. 32° and 14 mph wind. It's gonna be a fireplace day! Hunted in shorts and a T-shirt last evening. Winter clothes this afternoon and the next 10 days or so. What a change.

Windy today but ran my beagles any way. Really wasn't too bad. I can stand the cold way better than the heat.

Got down to ten degrees at sun up in western Kansas with 3 inches of snow Sunday. Went down to deer camp and it’s a little warmer like 20. Got a slight sprinkle of snow. Block of ice in my cooler looks the same as when I put it there five days ago. Hard to sit on the stand so I do a lot of still hunting

I can stand the cold way better than the heat. I've found freezing my ass off ain't near as much fun as it used to be!

Temperature has dropped like a rock yesterday afternoon. Froze my hides I had out to scrape. Works for me. If they are frozen then they arent hurting to be scraped.

Wish it would freeze up and stay that way. Up and down makes it hard to keep coons out of sets.

I am going to set up for coons here next week. I like catching them and putting them up. Decided to use live traps so I can turn loose the dinks.

If a guy wanted to catch a bunch of coon, this would be the year to do it. I've caught over 60 and haven't skinned a one.
Krank, I wouldn't turn any loose as they are way over populated and bound to get diseased.

Word on coon is that they have to be big and nice to have any value.
Still use the live trap near the house to release non-target.

Buddy called Grony and ask him what Mo. coon would bring. $10 finished on 3x and 4x. That is below production cost and our average would probably closer to $4 or $5 .
