Covered my maters too krank. I had 32 this morning with a pretty hard frost. Bean fields that still had green are now done for.

Read the AccuWeather forecast for 2022-23 winter this morning. According to them, it's going to be either: cold and snowy; mild and rainy; or just like last year.

It rained in the wee hours and I drove all the way to the ghetto in the rain. Maybe 1/4" so far.
Decided last night not to start combining beans until later this week after the rain clears. It would have been a slam to get it done before 2am when the rain started. The rain will plump up the beans a little and keep the dust down. Dust was horrible last night with combines throwing dust clear to the highway.
Down in Kansas, the grass died in August and farmers had to put out hay.

Woke up at 4:30 to the sound of rain drops. More of a sprinkle but getting harder as the morning progressed. Right now a good steady rain. This should settle the dust and knock down a little of the pollen. Hopefully more to come tonight and early tomorrow morning.

Ended up ,for the last 2 days, just a tad shy of 1/2 inch of rain. This will settle the dust for a couple days ot at least until the grain trucks will dry the gravel roads up again.
Looks like next week will bring cooler weather and I say bring it on.
Beagles have had a challenge running in the dry dry conditions so I'm going to run them today with this moisture in the ground. They should be able to hammer them.

Funny thing is that it might be wet and cold later and we will wish it was warmer and that the rain would quit.

I suspect it's going to get cold and wet, probably earlier this year than in the past few. But nothing I can do to change it. Lots of stuff going on for me right now and as usual I'm way behind. Still need to scout my new beaver trapping locations and I don't have my steel anywhere near ready to go. Deer season and camp is all up in the air with a bunch of drama. Cold wet weather wouldn't help any. But it is what it is.

Night and day running with some moisture. Dogs hammered for 3 hours with very few checks.
The rtain washed off quite a bit of pollen also.

Very little rain here, certainly not the thunderstorms predicted. Didn't even settle the dust.

Somewhere's near an inch. Beautiful outside because there was actually moisture in the air, but we gained little else. Someday soon we'll be complaining about a flood.
Or a blizzard.

got .2", not enough to settle the dust, It's getting late for grass to grow, probably feeding hay a month early.

Not sure what the temp was here this morning, someplace in the mid-twenties I suspect. Tomorrow is going to be about the same. Time to drag out the long underwear.

25 here this morning. I picked all the big green tomatoes yesterday evening and didn't bother to cover the plants, they're toast. Going to fry up some of the green ones and make chow chow out of the rest.
Ran my beagles this morning and my Dan's chaps kept me somewhat warm. The hackberry, mulberry, and other similar trees are dropping leaves left and right this morning.
Sure wish we could get a good soaking rain. Dogs ran pretty good for as dry as it is but could really hammer with some moisture. Would help tp wash the dust and pollen off everything too.
