Guess your screwed if ya run a diesel... login catch 2 coon per gal of diesel that would be 7.00 then you could get a a gal of diesel and a soda so just trap harder

Country buyers are probably cautious with the pricing on anything right now. They most likely got burnt pretty bad last year.

I guess all depends on size, color and time of coon catch. A good friend in Iowa has done better on carcass coons with his buyer than a below 4.00 avg................

If you live near a larger city, you will have no trouble selling the carcasses for $5 or more a pop and they sell quickly. I don't keep them except for a few to eat but lots of buyers and trappers keep them all!

I was quoted $1 for a 27" coon put up. Like I told him, I'll tan it before I take a dollar for a put up coon.

Skinned, fleshed, and then stretched coon is $3 labor saved by the buyer.

That means he is getting paid to take them off peoples hands! Lol! Pretty much. I'm sure there are many buyers still holding fur and may likely still be holding it a couple years from now. Most will be trying to get theaverage cost of what ever they're holding down. Add the cost of storage, interest on their money that's tied up,and all their overhead, the trappers feelings are the least of their worries. Pretty funny all the people that say they don't trap for the money until the money mentioned isn't very much lol
