I can stretch and dry a hide for two dollars so I will not pay over that. I can not stress enough that they must be done properly. Thank you, Mike

I just got quotes from 2 different buyers for my coon. $3.00 tops and $8.00 tops. I'm going to hope for a $5 average over the 5 I've got. 27" - 33" coon.

You might get that much if they are put up according to the nafa or fha regs! But, doubt it! Have fun. no fur buyers left in these parts. Even the big fella have tucked and run for cover cause they are all about big profit and not caring about the resource that has to me managed! The critters are in trouble! I could give a rats ass about the market!! It is all about russia and china!!

Local man took some coons to I.G. Ruth monsdy and sold for a $3.50 average green skinned.
Heard of a father and son who sold 26 coons for as $2.30 average green.

I talked to a guy that sold last week he averaged $3 on his green coon hides and got $15 apiece for 2 beef hides.

On the upside, saw where Iowa sale coons brought close to $10 average with tops of $22. I haven't heard of anyone around here getting as low of averages as you keep posting Robert. I think those fellas need to find a better buyer.

John I called Ropps 3 weeks ago and he said he is only averaging $5.50 on coon and that is pretty close to you isn't it?

About 80 miles north of me. I averaged $9 something put up and had 4 blue titty sows in the bunch. Green stuff and poor put up will suffer the most in down times of the fur market. I don't chase coon hard. I'd heard he quoted guys $20 on fox but he paid me $30 for two when I sold. I think he quotes a lower price on the phone as you never know what a bunch of fur is going to look like.

BigJohn, I.G.Ruth has been buying fur for at least 40 years.
$2.50 - $3.50 averages for green skinned coon hunted coons seems fair to me!! Especially if your only getting $9 on put up trapped coon. Big difference in quality.

BigJohn, If you want some phone numbers I'll gladly hook you up with some. Most of these local buyers are paying a $5 top on green coon

Not sure why I'd need a number for a buyer paying less than mine.

Iowavstste association sale coon averaged $9.81. Muskrats averaged under $4.
Big difference between Iowa and Missouri coon...figure at least a $2.50 difference between interstate 80 and interstate 70

Sold 15 coon this afternoon. I averaged $9.60 green today.. I was shocked. Guy in front of me sold 35 and averaged far less like $5, but most of his were from hound hunting and were chewed up and his skinning was all wrong.
