I sold mine to Ropps. A friend sold to Viers and was just slightly lower but not much. Big difference in put-up or care of furs is one of the reasons for a lot of the really low prices. When I sold I saw guys bring in coon that looked like crap and beefed about the prices when a quick brushing would have probably earned them another $ on their stuff. Then you have the wire vs board put-up. Easier to get a little more length using boards/wire-board added stretchers.

Mine was just shy of $10 and the guy that sold to Viers was around $8.50. Had I not offered the 4 blue blue titty sows the average would have been better. Those I just basically got paidd for the putup.
I did hear that Ropps was buying by appointment only now. Something about budget issues.
I've got 31 coons and an extra large beaver (slight damage due to bite mark ) left that I was going to run up to Ropps this week until I heard that. Viers will be at Carrollton sunday, so I may just run them over there, although Mark and I usually butt heads whenever I deal with him. Imagine that lol

The coons that come from my predator sets almost always run a lot bigger than an average coon line. I release any coon that wont make x-large unless it has a problem. I also turned several coon loose that would have went 3xxx due to being badly rubbed.

I sold to Duryee just outside of bolivar when I sold 3 weeks ago. I went back to him last Friday with another 30 coon and ended up with a $4 average. Probably bad timing on my part as it was the morning after he got the news that out of 2000 coon he sent to the Nafa auction, only 17 sold last Thursday., I think that had an effect on what he gave me this time around., oh well, I averaged around $7 for the year. Works for me.

Works for me. Just north a few miles, Derrick Peterman has an awesome fur buying set up. He will be at Laurie. Derrick is buying furs at an honest price. All of us had coon stay on the shelves at nafa. I sold 20 out of 1500. Only lost about six each on the 20. I expected it to be worse. I am glad some young buyers are getting into the business.

Silverfox Since your a dealer how come you don't put them in as price protected? I called them and they told me I can put a hold on mine but the price protected lots where for dealers.

It takes a tremendous volume to have enough pelts to.make up an entire dealer lot. Most smaller dealers are put into "DPLs" (dealer partial lots, lots made up of different buyers / dealers. DPLs do not have nearly the protection of a dealer lot.
