Ok I'm not going to curse because people get offended and have kids and I want ale very one to be able to read and comment.but to really show how furious I am I would have to. So amplify it a but more. But seriously!?!?!?! All of my duke #3 and 330s springs are done. I have had them for 1-2 seasons and they aren't usable any more. No I will not put new springs just to have them give out again. I under stand cheaping out here and there but the springs are the most importal part. I can't trust any of it. Season starts in just a few days and all I have for predators are 5 traps a couple mb550s and a few bridgers. Granted the coon equipment will hold up. But I'll never buy another product from them again. I can play with the 330 springs like a child's toy after a season. This is absolutely rediculous.my #3 springs are easier then my 1.5's!

Been using Duke 330s for years, never ever had spring problems and those Duke 330s have taken more beaver than most can imagine. Not sure if you got a bad batch or what, but a few years ago,Duke upraded all the body grip springs and they aren't week by any means. Tom

I've had about 10 duke 330s. None are usable and I've only been trapping for 4 years.

Going to call BS on this statement. I use a couple hundred Duke #3s and #4s. Duke Spring material has always been some of the best in the industry.

Have to agree with Tom...My Duke #330s springs are still really strong after about 5 years. Maybe they changed something...or got a bad batch as stated.
I used to hate the Duke #220 as the old springs were junk. Real weak. So I called and complained. They sent me a new dozen...which I didn't like. They now changed those springs...for the better. The #330s should be good, though. I have no experience with the #3s. I find the 1.5s very good, however.
I/d call Duke tomorrow... They may have some insight into the issue.
Now, you didn't do something to them that would cause them to lose their temper? Store the springs compressed? People say it doesn't matter. I disagree.

I've stored many a BG with the springs compressed with never an issue. Some of my favorite BG's are the OLD Duke 280 (8" X 10"). Still strong as can be. I'd buy more of those today.
I hear a lot of stories about coil springs, and not just Duke. Music wire makes all the difference. If it was me I'd contact Duke, AND send samples for them to see. Duke is a stand-up company and Bill Duke is a great guy.

No I don't store them compressed. I have given them a fair shake. 3 years now. And the difference between brand new and last year's is astronomical. I don't even feel confident in them anymore I knew bridgers that are 8 yrs old and a heck of a lot stronger. I even tried whole different batches. still not worth a darn. As for #3s springs not only issue. They jaws pop out and the jaws are to thin I think... so are bridgers but brideer is a bit thicker I think by looking at em. I pitched almost all my #3s and 330s today. When I needed 155s I didn't go duke.

My Duke 330s are compressed and always stored that way.It has never been an issue with strength. You tried different batches and they were all weak? Duke 330s are the first ones I grab, only 330s I ever had trouble with--sleepy creeks. Now there was----,and their customer service was not what one would expect. Tom

Do you boil your traps ?how do you treat them .instead of beating you up about it ,tell us the truth on what you have done.so it can be fixed.the only traps I ever had get weak was 330 victors I got in 78 , and northwoods came out of the box weak.if you don't wax what do you do ? I have dukes that are so strong I can barely set them .
Where you located .being your new , you may need a helping hand

I'll agree with snagger on this. After my experience with a duke cs last winter I will never use them again. Duke 1.5 CS vs 1 bobcat = 1 bent frame and popped jaws so nope their not gonna be in my trap shed.

I held a 25 lb tomcat (bobbie) year before last and a small beaver in Duke #1 CS traps... Fine traps in my book... and I got some #3's that are going on their 4th year, strong as the day I bought em...

oh right. I have speed dipped a couple in the past. that didn't really help springs. all I do is buy em, submerge em. I don't wax them or anything. I don't have pots big enough, so I don't try. they never lasted long enough to matter.
