Needs to start after reg. deer season and run till the end of Feb. Extend the otter and rats to the end of beaver season so ya wont have to worry about catchin em in your beaver sets.

Would really hate to see state zoning. This could give potental problems to those that trap multipul counties and long line.I'd think it would also cause more enforcement problems.Just keeping it simple is a good policy. Plenty of ways to avoid non-target catches to the point it wouldn't be that big of an issue. It's not like they ticket you for a non-target catch if you notify them.

Zones suck. Not that Missouri doesn't need them, but they can be confusing and enforcement problems are also an issue.

I'm all for the after Nov. firearms deer season through the end of February for furbearers. Beaver, otter and rats, I think they should all end on the same date. March 31st!

Have the season open after deer season say the weekend of thanksgiving. Then have land animals end the end of February and All the water animals end at the same time. Weather it's March or February.

I think they need to work around rabbit season as well as deer season, cause a beagle might get caught in a completly submerg 330. You know, the ones that dive for rabbits in the water.

I totally disagree with starting the season later. I live in north MO, and if we start after deer season alot of years we would be froze out. If you don't want to trap deer season don't, some of us have to or take a chance on being froze. We do need the days added back on to the end of the season, to take the cats when they are prime.

Open sooner and close later! Deer hunters caught in my traps have never been a problem, what a silly thing to relate trapping season to the never ending deer season! It might be better to have the main portion of deer season in September or October; but the important thing to remember is opportunity to trap, no one has to trap on opening day or the day after. Give me the chance to trap earlier or later and let me decide if it is worth while or not. Not many are going to expend the time, money, or energy to take pelts that have no value. No zones unless it is county by county and local election, 'nother silly idea!
The entire idea of trapping season indicates that we are considered children incapable of thinking for ourselves and need to be told when and how to take care of bussiness.

You speak wisdom trevis. A trapper needs to decide for himself when fur is prime. My main thought on season length is mostly to do with the END of the season, and the otter/muskrat/mink dilemma. Enough $1 early-caught 'coon and folks will figure it out.
And of course the bobcats. NEVER forget the bobcat.
