I keep all mine ready in case a ADC job comes up. Looks like another year of beaver and otter trapping with some bobcats thrown in. Might have to catch a few coons if the prices for them increases enough.

When I put last years away then they were ready for next season. Thinking about boiling some new and waxing them.

Right now....everything is bone dry. Weatherman says no rain for the next 2 weeks. Coming up on a no burn deer season and dry creeks where I found mink and muskrat this summer. Farmers arent even bringing crops because they don't want to breath the dirt for lousy prices.

I had a brief downpour a few minutes ago. Dumped .06". I'll take it. The dust will be settled for a day or two.

Should remove the paint, it's a mild acid, but still dangerous. wear eye protection and your long sleave water gauntlets if you have them

Yes I do. I'll bet it'll kill that paint... Be very careful! I boil them in it, scooping the crap that floats to the top off every couple of minutes. 3-4 minutes gets it done (depending how you mix it). The acid will KILL anything that's not steel too.

Has anyone used muriatic acid to clean there traps and would it take speed dip off of traps I have used it for years.I posted about it on trapperman and got villified for it. Fooey on them. Best advice I have is highly dillute it. Like a couple spoon full to the gallon. Beats the heck out of expensive vinegar. It doesnt take but a couple minute to etch the metal and then rinse it with water to stop the reaction. I also use muriatic acid on items I forge. It puts a finish on the metal not unlike gun blueing. I bought a gallon jug thirty years ago and it is still half full.

Any hardware store. They use it to clear drains and clean concrete.
