I got online and bought some screw adapters that you glue on a cedar shaft to accept a screw on head. Then I got some adapters that convert glue on broad heads to screw on. End result is 75 grains extra weight right behind the broadhead. If I get greedy, I have 25 gr and 50 gr inserts to stack on the screw insert. Years ago, I pumped caulking into hollow aluminum shafts and slid the insert back in. Only other way to way for cedar is just heavier broadheads. My problem is that I have too many bows and too many arrows to choose from. Back when I only owned a 45# recurve then there was only one choice.

I'm going thru bows right now, shooting a few different each day while working on my form. So far it's been seven bows and I've liked something about each one of them. I'm gonna settle on two by next week, then get serious about arrows with them, THEN pick THE bow. I may get done on time to hunt before Christmas.
Compounds are so much easier. And a lot less fun.

I got like 5 compounds gathering dust. I have an old Warthog with no sights and I can instinct it pretty well. I fear they will gather dust and become museum pieces. I just need to build muscle by repetition. I go out there and zing as many arrows as fast as I can and hit pretty good. When I try real hard then I miss.
