All the buckets at home are almost half full. We got five inches and no puddles.

Nice and cool outside this morning. Feels almost like October. Not sure how much rain we got here, but it could stand a little more. Mississippi is low and still dropping, saw that they are getting rain further north, might raise the river level at St Gen in a couple of days.

Took my beagles out since it was so much cooler and man they ran the hair off a couple of rabbits.

They are calling for a chance of rain a couple more times this week and we could still use it.

Rained Monday morning and again last night. All the creeks were way up on way to work. I wish some other people could have some of our rain.

St Louis got hit pretty hard. Not enough rain here to make a big difference. Was supposed to rain again today but no such luck. River level rose a foot and a half overnight.

83 right now and terrible muggy. My Dad is not happy as all this missed SE Kansas and the farm is parched.

Drove down to my bow hunting spot this morning. Was going to walk further back but it's stupid hot.

Saturday was 80 but if you walked fast you got hot. Reason being 80 was the temperature and the humidity.

Humidity is ragin' this morning. The "real feel" temp is supposed to be around 105 today. Yesterday was much the same, welcome to August.

Humidity makes it worse and it just sprinkled here.

Started early this morning mowing, spraying, and trimming some trees. By 10 I was wet to my underwear. I still needed to do the grocery shopping since the wife is down. She asked if I was going to shower first to which I replied "Hell No !".
Once I get a shower I'm done for the day.

Calling for thunderstorms tonight and maybe tomorrow. Might just make it worse. Everything growing here is dying from the heat.

Wondering if I will get anything out of garden. Looked perfect on May 15th. Drowned then burnt. Still no tomatoes. Some corn. Beans and okra barren. Its been hell.....

The tomatoes I've been getting are a little larger than golf balls. Not a single green bean or cucumber. Two ripe strawberries. Green peppers are the same as the tomatoes. Sweet banana peppers have done pretty well. One runt squash. Really a disappointment. Peaches on the tree are the size of walnuts.

Our cucumbers went to the chickens. Terrible bitter way back on july 4th

I'm in my fourth shirt of the day, and now I'm going out to mow some grass (weeds). That'll make FIVE. I love it. Just not as much as I used to.

Except to roll the windows up in my truck, I haven't ventured outside all day. It's thundering out right now.
