Cool. I did it for the first time years ago- I about got ate up at the first barn we called. Learned a couple of lessons real quick.
In MY opinion (which don't mean much) folks need to forget about this money thing, and think about the biology of the situation. Too many critters means too many problems. We need to do our part whether we're paid to or not. Good luck.

I noticed things are not in full swing yet. Nothing is hitting my corn very hard. Snow coming Thursday.

What sound are you using?

Yeah what sounds you using? Change them. In the fall coons love each other and take naps together. Later on they get cantankerous and easily agitated.

We went to the .17hmr and .22 mag for hunting coon with dogs. Some of those tall pecan trees make for a long shot. Got tired of skinning coon with bullets just beneath the skin from LR. For calling though you may have to use fast repeat shots and range is close so 22 LR offers economy. That and I like my Ruger 10/22. One year we were so hot and heavy I was carrying a stagecoach gun loaded with #4 buck as a back up gun. I read this and get excited and keep meaning to go out and call but I get sidetracked as the day gets away. Maybe today?
