I found one last night. Still too cool. We've had enough rain, now just need some warm days. Supposed to be cloudy and wet for the next week. High temps 55° to 65° and lows from 40° to 50°.

Found 100 Saturday and 204 today. It's about to get good here in Southern Mo.

If you look through the threads from years before, we had wet and dry and hot and cold. My best year (2011?) ended in hundreds of morels covered with snow in May.

Nice haul logger. Normally around turkey season they are up here. Are they on schedule down there?

They are a little early, maybe a couple weeks. Whites and yellows are about to get going here.

I'm not sure how many thousand I found but my best year was wading water in rubber boots and picking bags of shrooms literally under water.

The year it snowed was ideal weather and then it got cold and snowed and covered the morels and ruined them. Ruined the corn crop too.
The drought of 2011 was the year hay went to $100 and the deer all died from the blue fly.

I've found more greys than I usually do. Logged a likely looking spot a while back and it actually had quite a few when I went back.

Today's spot wasn't too great. I only found 17 before it started to rain and I had covered a lot of ground by then. Krank, one of the few advantages of logging is watching every season come and go first hand.

Last Spring I was logging in Protem near Bull Shoals. Many days work were missed due to suckers or mushrooms being spotted, white bass biting, or a turkey gobble.

Sunday afternoon I checked for mushrooms and there was a turkey just gobbling like crazy. ..Odd ...
