I make a bait of milky field corn. It works. You can add anything to it.

Sorry, just seen this. My field corn works good, deck bed, then we gring the cobs up into it. Cheap molasses or cheap maple syrup ry kicks it up.

GENTELMEN ---- I would like to take this time to help a fellow trapper out. It wont matter much the bate you put down the pipe. if your on location!!!- Wat does make a dif is a call lure. I started using carmons #2 coon lure it smells like a coons a double s it catches 75% more bore coon. I use cheep dry cat food the seafood flavor of course. Same thing I use in the 155 box setup.

I buy Carmans coon #2 in 4 oz bottles. Best coon lure made. Nearly 4 decades of heavy use and catches cant be wrong. Its a gland lure type, mink love it too by the way. But in DP's i like to givem something good to eat also. If youve got Carmans coon-#2 the bait doesnt matter, just something they'll eat..in baited/lured sets this lure catches well over 50% of our coons. No.10 cans of corn work, you can pour the juice around, scatter a few kernels and put coon no.2 down the pipe. = dead coon. We get those cans at the super warehouse stores for $2-$4. You can make about 30 sets with one can.

Some of the best DP coon bait I found is mini marshmallows and cat food. Plus use some of Locklear's Coon crack works awesome

If you want to avoid feline, you can't use any meat or fish item or scent. Try a piece of black licorish covered by dairy feed, or lucky charms or corn/koolaid (mix 1 qt whole corn with a package of grape koolaid)
