i am going to chime in here and just give my thoughts, and that is just my opinion, i have spent the last 5 years coming up with a great dp bait, first point i will make is, to be the most effective it has to be something different, something the coon loves to smell and wants to eat , second thing, to have an effective dp bait i have found it must be a dry bait, something that wont freeze and leaves no mess in the trap, there are many other things i have come up with in the past, and have tried them all, but in my opinion a dry dp bait works the best, and i have finally come up with what works for me, good luck everyone. yes i have tried all the jack mac stuff mixing it with all kinds of crap, but there are things a lot better than that, keep experimenting, never settle for status quo, i would rather use a great bait that keeps them coming

I use the cheapest dry cat food I can find with some bacon or sausage drippings mixed in. It does really well around my part of the country. I might try some vanilla or anise for a change up.

I am going to try this dry catfood. It has a pH inhibiter to reduce urinary infections and Selinium to boost immunity system. Also high fiber for healthy digestion.

Put some catfood in a blender and added some fish oil and glycerine in one batch then did another with tootie fruities, molasses, honey, some corn syrup, a little anise, and added some marshmallow. If it wasn't for the marshmallows they'd look identical. I didn't order any castor yet, have gotten the Busch light but I may regret that Krank. Either way season is less than a week away and I'm a lot better prepared this year thanks to the clinics, forums, and talking with people so hopefully I'll do alright, have a blast trying to out fox the fox, and maybe even get to sell some furs this year. Either way....it's about that time. Good luck everybody!

I like to bait with chunks.
