I love my .17hmr, but I use the 20gr gamepoint, the bullet is less explosive, penetrates better and doesn't do a lot of damage to the furs.

Yep , I'm still kicking myself over letting the guns go in the Divorce , but that will make a person do silly things at times. I had 3 about every caliber from .17 HMR to 30-06. The 4 I miss the most are T/C Encore 18" .204 , CZ 524/? American .204 , OLD Savage Mod. ? .22 K-Hornet , Rem. 788 .222
The 788 is the one I miss the most then the T/C Encore.

tcrooks,I've ot a 788 in 222 and it's also my favorite. That little gun shots like a lazer.I load a 40gr Ballistic Tip at 3000 fps and there isn't a better fur gun in my opinion.Doesn't tear up cats, fox,or coyotes but will put them down at 250 yards prtty easily. When I'm calling,it's the rifle that's going with me.

My buddy died and his son-in-law got the rem 222. ( I wanted it but kept mouth shut) When I was a kid they were real popular and then along come Vietnam and after that the market got glutted with cheap 223 so the poor little 222 got thrown in the weeds. (223 more potent than 222 but that aint neccessarily good) Got to look hard to find one like the 788 in a gun shop ($600) or get a contender barrel.
