When the Adult beaver get wary in a colony if you haven't caught them the first couple nights. You can make a Feeding station slide set using their own small white feed sticks. Only Use a squirt of Birch Oil OR Poplar Bud oil to the mud allowing a couple drops to get in the water and create a slick.... Complete your set Using Non-Castor lures allows for me to catch many Wary Adults, that won't come near Castor Base lure anymore.
Found this online, thought it might help someone.

The best way to catch those type of beaver are blocking down bank sides and adding a kill trap or snare. Find there runs in the shallows and a coni will do the trick. Or better yet blind set there feeding areas. All beaver have a certain spot in the shallows that they like to feed they are marked by chewed twigs and limbs. The key to identifying this location is the droppings they leave at the spot in the water.

can you use droppings from another areas beaver to make you own mock-up beaver feeding station with different sticks and limbs? To make it look like another beaver rolled into the area invading the other dominate beavers space?

Or save the dam for last and punch a hole in it and set a foot hold, hancock or a snare on fenced set comming into and out of the dam.
