Linda hit them with a foat last yr along with me. And we both found out its not what its cracked up to be. But of course floats are a new method for me. So i might have been doing something wrong. But they just dont seem to be a effective tool for me. I tried them on the creek and ponds and 3 lakes. With zero catches.

I caught 'em in the old days with float sets, but haven't tried it in a long time. There's not enough 'rats around here to go to the trouble.

I used a float set last year, used collard greens and tunip greens for bait, had no results, maybe didnt like greens but did catch 2 rats in other sets at same pond

Jbat i pulled the floats and cleaned the rats out at the dens and runs with 110's and colony traps. I dont know what or if anything i was doing wrong but they didnt like the float sets at all!

They seem to be more trouble than they are worth, imagine they work good in swampy areas with large populations of rats, just my thought

i have used floats set in ponds and had good luck with it. trap on each end ear of corn and some Carmans on it works well for me. I had a pond could not find the den hole at all so floats did it for me. good luck

Floats work best for spring time ratting. They are starting to breed and they want to climb on everything and deposit musk.

floats work best if prebaited, and left at the location
