In the first pic i think it is mink but not for sure. The second was close to first pic but is a coon i do belive. Thanks for your help.

The first pic could be a mink or a small otter. The second pic could be a young coon. With the snail in the first pic as a referance i would say mink!

these pics were taken at the pond at my house no rivers are close at all. so i dont think it would be a otter. But i have been wrong befor.

otter can be found miles from the water source.

Mr. Bevels is correct. I saw one last year that was 2 miles from the nearst source of water.

The only bad thing about otter are they eat your chickens and you cant do nothing about it without getting the DNR in volved. Here in WI you cant shoot or trap an otter without a tag.
