here is a tip for any muskrat trappers,on the 110 single spring take the rivet out oppisite the spring side replace it with a 60d spike put a washer on both sides of the jaw the one washer on the outside of the trap tack weld it to the spike and your done. just set the trap and stick spike in the ground.. It is much faster to make a set..

Unless you bend the spike at a 90Deg angle, the jaws won't close on the catch top/bottom, but from the side. PS: I do the same with threaded rod or LOOOONG bolts I scrounge from large wire spools on all sizes of Bodygrips.

If you have trouble coming across some 110 triggers you can make some from a bicycle wheel spoke, they are the right diameter, are made from tempered spring steel, bend relatively easy, and work like a charm.most of the time they can be had for free.

i cut off all the chain on my 110's and use cable and furules and attach to a bamboo pole, then use the pole to make a hole in the mud and set spring down on just about every set I make . this way I can pull traps on high tide and set traps on low tide. 99% all all my trapping is done from a boat , one person driving and one person u front setting traps , can set alot of traps that way, the driver just pull up to the next hole or run in the marsh . works great

i have heard of a rat raft has ne one tried it and does it work efficently In Rich Kaspars "muskrats by the 1000s", Kaspars uses these quite a bit. And near the end of the video he says he should have used floats exclusively because of they are inexpensive to make, and can be checked from a distance. Dad and i made 12 of them, figured why not. Its always good to have an extra trick up your sleeve

Floats are real good if the water level constantly fluctuates.

notch a 180 bend of 6" pvc to acomindate a 110 on each end pull a little dirt grass leaves etc.over it leaving the ends exposed add a shot of lure or a muskrat haunch and you have the deadkiest mink set i know of and if a pair comes by you have a good chance of catching them both
