Be sure to write down every step you take when making bait. This way you will be able to refine which ones worked good and others that didn't work so well by going back and reading what you used and how you made the bait. Being able to use the exact same recipe each time will eliminate lost time and ingredients to a poor bait.

good tip midmo, cause i smelled some bait i had made right after last season and thought, "hmmmm boy this smells right, wonder what all i put in it??"
