I do all the cookin at my house cause wife cant walk, my latest suprise for her was squirrel and rice, she always asks whats for supper, I tell her a suprise. took 3 grays boned as much meat of as I could,[ should have boiled them, would have got more meat] cut meat in small pieces, marinated in teriaki sauce for several hours, stir fried it added frozen carrots and peas, rice, some real butter, turned out real good, we ate the whole pan full, didnt have no room for chocolate ice cream, until latter. jbat

forgot, cooked rice and vegetables separately then added to squrril and simmered for awhile

Squirrel heads and rice is a big thing with the old timers. I have had it and it was ok but way to much work,you can hear them old folks slurpping those brains 100 yards away

anyone watch duck dynasty.? Mrs. K fixed the boys squirrel and she cooked them whole with the heads on. And she talked about how good the brains were, and would suck them out... I have never heard of this till i saw that episode.. not sure if i could do it!!

Thats the way most of my friends fix them is to cook them whole with the heads on, NOT ME!!! I like sound of his using as a stir fry that sounds really good. I have done mine one of two ways cut em up and fry em and make gravey with the drippings and put in over bisquits or cooked rice. The other way is to cut them up put them in the crock pot with a package of Lipton onion soup mix and when the meat ready to fall off the bones remove it from the crock and slap it on the grill and finish by bbq'ing them and serving them with your favorite side. I really like the terriaki idea and may have to try it soon.

Granny hated the day I got my new .22 cause when I get mr.bushy tail he aint got any brains left. Still to this day she wants me to take the shotgun out. So twice a year I will.
