Getting fleas off the dog is easy. Killing the eggs in the ground can be a long drawn out deal.Just when you think you nuked them all then another crop hatches out.

I had to move a kennel once because the fleas were under the patio block floor.

Vicious little bastards ain't they? That longish hot spell we had makes the eggs hatch out, and it got away from me. I use the stripe up the back stuff, and Seven dust in the dog boxes and bedding. Woks fine, just takes a while. And of course the hounds have to stay out of the house for a while.

Permethrin is my go-to poison. Hard on bugs and safe on people. I spray the horses with it. I drench the bees yard soil with it to kill hive beetles. I spray it on my pant legs for ticks. I drench the kennel floor with a sprinkler can. Getting hard to find the 40% but the 10% works just fine.
