I haven't hunted Doves in many decades. I took these two this morning from the back yard.  I'm not a fan of the taste but I'm planning to make some whole muscle deer jerky on the pellet smoker sometime soon and thought I might as well put some Bacon wrapped dove poppers on there too. I plan to take a few more in the next few days.  |

Ran my beagles yesterday on some public ground that has sunflower fields. I'll bet there were 50 trucks of hunters on that area. I hadn't seen but a handful of doves there all summer and very little shooting went on. Today wasn't but 2 trucks there lol

Nothing this morning. |

I heard a few pops. Got me a migratory tag. Went out last night and they were not flying. Need to hit a cut corn patch.

Same old for me. Weather turns cool and doves go South. Not at all like it used to be. Even the MDC admitts the migration patterns have changed.
