Rabbits

Looks to be a bumper crop of them this year.

I was mowing the weeds (yard) today, and kept jumping up a baby rabbit when I’d get close to the wife’s bushes. Haven’t seen many rabbits since we moved here. Maybe they are expanding their territory.

I have a bunch of weeds in my pasture so I went out and started mowing and rabbits come flying out so I shut her off and went back to the barn. Not that big of a deal having those weeds and the rabbits are using the cover.
It has been a merciful summer with decent rain and heat not as bad as it could be. Bumper crop of weeds and more corn than beans.

Took advantage of this cooler morning to run my beagles. So many young rabbits the dogs having a hard time staying on one until the hit an old one then it was off to the races. Crossed a road into a bean field and hammered on it for 45 minutes.

Running in bean fields is some of my best running this time of the year. Weeds are so thick this year that dogs struggle running the weed patches.
