Weather this weekend was great. I got a lot of outside work done and it didn't hurt to be out in the sun. I asked my wife if she wanted to go fishing and she said no. I hopped on the ATV and went to a cow pond a couple miles away. I threw in a piece of shrimp and caught a 5# channel. 5 minutes later I caught another 5 pounder. Sent her a picture. Drank a couple of beers and left. Problem with channels and ponds is the fish fighting on the line spooks the rest.

We're in Iowa, then COMMIE County tomorrow (Illinois) rock hunting. Something new for us, hunting Keokuk Geodes. Maybe stay up here a couple of days. No fishin' this week probably (again), but this stuff is for my wife.
Where we're at, you can be in MO, IA and then Commie Country in a matter of minutes. I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do with my pistol. The fact that I worry about the COMMIES and they're ignorant and unconstitutional gun laws pisses me off terribly...

I would put the gun away in Illinois (where you need it most) This week would be a great time for a road trip. I was just talking to a guy in Rapid City and got me thinking about the Badlands and Black Hills.

Dale I was told by an Illinois State Trooper, the local cops watch carefully for any out of state plates for special attention on traffic laws, so they can do a firearms sweep. |

If you have a lockable case for the pistol, use it too. Gun and ammo need to be kept separate, and don't forget the round in the chamber!

I used to fly into Chicago every week. My jaw dropped at 12 lanes of traffic. Hated it. It was nice to head North to Wisconsin where most of the people were down to earth.

The cheese heads were a fairly conservative bunch and they all fished and hunted as opposed to all the wierdos in Chicago.

And then when I got home I realized- that while the gun and clips were very separate, the console of my truck, where the pistol was, is full of ammo...
To think I could go to jail over such a simple, commie/socialistic way of thinking.

Looks like this coming week it's back to summer time heat and humidity.
Corn around here is pretty much made but beans could use a rain by next week.
