Drove around a section on a local conservation area yesterday evening and in a stretch of about a mile I counted no less than 18 rabbits. Drove on around the whole perimeter this morning and I'll be I saw every bit of 30 rabbits.
Looks like it's going to be a banner year for the beagle dogs.

I think that every year. My yard is adjacent to a 1/2 mile hedge row and I always see rabbits and quail, Come the dead of winter and I don't see them. Come a snow and there are rabbit tracks everywhere. I have been waiting 50 years for the bunnies to come back like in Grandpas day. The MDOC has an area by my house called Montrose. I went fishing there last week and I saw a dozen rabbits driving in and out of there. They also posted a sign saying not to eat the catfish over 20 #s.

Mike I've went into areas behind other hunters that tell me ain't no rabbits there. Within 5 minutes my girls will have one up and running. Having beagles is a game changer on rabbits.

We never had a dog when I was a kid. When I moved out I had a pup named Gus that looked like a coyote. That dog would hunt rabbits and I never had to shoot. It would run them down and hold them until I got there. Later on I got coon hounds. Had a guy give me a beagle and thats when I learned the joy of a beagle.
