I broke down and bought a new lawn mower this past Thursday. My old one kept burning up deck belts. Not sure if one of the pulleys is bent or seized up. Ended up getting a 15.5 HP Craftsman with 42 inch cut from Lowes. They give a Veterans discount that pretty much paid the sales tax on it. Looked at some John Deere's at Tractor Supply but they sure are proud of that green paint.

I have a cub cadet zero turn that eats spindles and belts like crazy. I found that you need to replace everything all at once or it never ends. I can get all new spindles and belts and blades off Amazon for half of what Tractor Supply wants. I think the decks are so flimsy that they flex and twist and throws everything off. Meanwhile, I got an old Farris commercial grade zero turn that doesnt cut grass the greatest but it chops down trees and brush like nobodies business. In the last couple years, I have given away or thrown away several riding mowers just because they were a money pit. Nobody works on them anymore at least around here.

When we first moved here about 4 years ago, I bought a Bad Boy ZTR and love it! Had no issues, and maintain it as they recommend..
