Some moron forgot to close a valve at a fertilizer plant and a LOT of fertilizer flowed into the W Nishnabotna river in Iowa, that is now gonna flow into the Missouri River and run across the entire state. It's killed every living thing in the river. SON-OF-A-GUN!

The river being so low isn't going to help dilute this problem.

Well...it was a quarter million gallons of liquid nitrogen from a leaky valve that had been defective for an undetermined time. It has affected 40 miles of river in Iowa and there is a one mile section that is 100% kill. They said the drought isnt helping matters. I read several accounts and they are with holding more information pending further investigation.(cows do too) The nitrogen destroys oxygen but it does become less deadly as it becomes more diluted.

Leaky valve or intentional? I have my theories. Spills, fires, ships and barges losing power, trains derailing, bird flu, swine flu must all be climate change :-)
