What is up with these coyotes? Slightly after dark I hear a few North of the house. At the same time You hear them west of the house and then they are back behind the house. Sounds like a jillion yotes. Shine a 1/4 mile spotlight and nothing. I think coyote calls are like rabbit tracks in the snow. Just a few critters will make you think you are over run with them.

Yup have people tell me all the time they're surrounded by hundreds of coyotes when in reality only a family group.

I have a howler that I made out of an old bugle. Theres a challenge bark and a greeting call and a life is good howl.

Got one I made out of cow horn. Use to kill quite a few summer coyotes by howling them in.

Always heard a lot of them sitting around the fire after deer season opened. Running the gut piles.
