This is my go to trapline gun. I bought a Mossberg target rifle (like they use at summer camp) for $15. The barrel was bent at the muzzle and it was missing parts. I found or made enough pieces to get it to work single shot. I cut the barrel down to a still legal length. The sling is an old belt. The maglight in the end is self explanatory. I had to have a scope because I rarely check traps in daylight. I hate the skinny 22 scope but had to use it because I could only find a mount that went on side of receiver. Thats what it was drilled and tapped for and thats the way Mossberg intended. You cant shoot in the dark well with iron sights. I learned that coon hunting. It works well for dispatch but it also is serious weapon out to 100 yards in daylight. Used and abused for 30 years. I remembered it was hanging in a shed with my traps so I brought it in the house for a little TLC.

WTG you cheap bastard! LOL I use a Romanian made Russian military training rifle I bought many years ago for like $20. A real POS looking rifle, but surprisingly accurate and reliable.

I used to see those Romanian .22s at the gun show. Never thought nothing of it. My buddy showed me his that he carried behind the seat of his truck. Neat sturdy gun. Thought I would get one but price went up at the gun shows. I need my scope to shoot in the dark.

I use a Phoenix Arms HP22. Sometimes I use the short barrel on it but mostly use the longer barrel.

My Phoenix shoots as good as my MarkIV ruger. I dont notice it on my hip either. Long barrel is only way to go.

I use a Phoenix Arms HP22. Sometimes I View Attachmentuse the short barrel on it but mostly use the longer barrel. I modified my safety so the magazine will release without the safety on. Voided my lifetime warranty unless I put it back before shipping. Complaints of frame cracking but stick to standard velocity and no problem.

I use a Ruger Mark 1. Thing shoots way better than I do. Got where I couldn't see the sights in the dark so I painted the sights with glowing paint.

I use a Ruger Mark 1. Thing shoots way better than I do. Got where I couldn't see the sights in the dark so I painted the sights with glowing paint. I bought one years ago. My Dad saw me shooting beer cans at 75 yards out in the yard at the farm. He asked if he could borrow that and I said "Sure". He retired his H&R revolver and carries the Ruger.

Heres a gun that I bought in 1972. Paid $5 for it which was a lot of money to a kid. Ithaca that had a broken lever and a missing fore arm and no sights. Toe of butt stop broken off. Dad whittled a forearm for it and the trigger guard is enough lever. He squared the buttstock off in a tablesaw and I made a buttplate out of leather. Carried it for years and all my brothers tried to wear it out. Stashed it in the vehicles for years and decided to retire it before it got stolen. Its leaned up in the kitchen corner and my wife uses it.

Here is an H&R Trapper that is 7 shot. Colt SAA for comparison. It was used for years before I was born. It went from the pawn shop to the gunsafe after I shot it.
