I dont have any. Sorry. I just want to say that fur prices have done nothing to trap prices. They are selling high on craigs list. Used is selling less than new but nothing is cheap. Only bargains I see are people wanting to sell a whole collection from a deceased family member. Shipping traps is a losing proposition too.

Brother in law is a trash man. He has ten acres of stuff he brought home and he sorts it and sells scrap. He has a whole shed full of lawnmowers and tree stands and tool boxes etc that people threw away. Some of it brand new in the box. Last night he stops in and asked me if I still trapped. I said I do some. He said to come get these boxes out of his truck. The two boxes are full off traps. All of them are in good shape. I need to sort them and clean them up. Somebody just set them out for the trash man.

He brought me a cast iron frying pan from Walmart that had a return ticket taped to it. Reason for return was "rusting".

I told him if I ever lost my job, I would set up a flea market and split the money with him. He said that would be okay. He said he was more concerned with the scrap than all the tools and appliances and other equipment he has stacked up.

Start up a Biz cleaning out basements/garages etc, THAT'S where the money is! That's how I fed the kids during the Carter years in the big city, but it was never more than just enough to get by on. Truck costs, advertising, dump fees, cost of helper, etc. eat up most of the money and if there ever a really nice piece that could make a bit, you have to remove it secretly, because even if the homeowner is paying you to take it away, three neighbors and a nephew's wife's sister will all want it if they see it.

I was prowling the pawn shops the other day and ran across three milk crates full of traps. Foot holds and body grips. Talked to the shop owner, who I've bought several guns from, he said a guy comes in with a pile of traps every couple of months. These aren't traps that people put up for decoration. They're working traps, modified #2's, 1 1/2's, 110,220's. Some just came off the line with mud on them and leaves between the jaws. Now I'm wondering if this is someone who's hanging it up and has quit trapping or a big time trap thief. This is a lot of traps when you add up the number overall. Couldn't find any tags or markings on any that indicate the owner. Maybe I'm just jumping to the wrong idea. Lots of people are getting out of trapping. But these aren't stuff that has been sitting around for a while.

Kinda did to me too. No way of knowing for sure and there's no ID on any of the traps. Thought about buying the whole lot of them but I hate the idea of buying stolen steel. I'm sure someone will purchase them if I don't though.

Being in milk crates is a sign that they are legit, I think. Fresh stolen off the line they would be strung together on a wire or something; the crates indicate intent to store or the usual storage to line transport. If I were pawning or selling my traps, I'd take all tags off, so that whoever ends up with them can't get me mixed up in illegal use or trespass controversy.

I've never sold any of my traps, but if I did I'd certainly remove all the tags. And I do store mine in empty milk crates. It just seemed a little odd that someone would bring in a pile of steel every couple of months.

These traps all have the same name tag on them. They were working traps with some being double swiveled. I searched the internet for the guys obit and didnt find any. If they were stolen I would gladly give them back. I am wondering what would be the best storage. Kinda tempted to dip them in waste oil and hang them in a lean to. Best thing would be to power spray and dye and wax but I have no time for that right now. Probably just sort and hang.

I've got to be the world's worst when it comes to clean up after season. It ends up in a big snarled up mess until warmer weather rolls around.

All my stuff is hung up and ready for next go around. After I untangled and sorted all these I wondered if I should have left them in the box all tangled up.

I picked through them and sold the rest to the delivery guy. Life is good.
