Bet they start picking corn in Aug this year. Looks like some fields burned up while others don't look bad. I'd say corn crop will be down by 25%.
Now beans, these last few days ran will make the bean crop here. Subsurface water has been built up enough to see them through even if we don't get much more rain.

USDA is reporting that Missouri has the worst corn report. Everything around me looks swell. Corn is just starting to turn yellow and kernels are fully dented. I did notice the ears are small this year. Beans never suffered a bit this year. I got two does with fawns that are out in the beans every morning. My beans came after wheat so they are still small and thats what they want to graze on. Corn aint what it used to be. Used to be the fields didnt get picked until late and the combines left some ears behind. Not anymore. These new combines dont leave any ears behind. What they do is shatter the kernels and scatter grains all over. Next rain sprouts the corn and it looks like a wheatfield with all the sprouts. I asked a farmer what he thought about all the scattered grain and he said it was no big deal. Yields are still a record high and ground speed of combine is fast so less time in the field. If they went slower they wouldnt blow corn all over the place.
