Well went to take a otter pelt off and noticed that my hybrid stretcher had collapsed halfway up. So can I rehydrate the pelt and start over without any issues. Thanks for any info

Don't over hydrate and use a fan on it while redrying it to prevent mold. Wrap in a damp towel and keep an eye on it as you rehydrate.

My tip, for what it's worth, is to not put the fan directly on the hide. Moving air is important, but not DIRECT moving air.

It doesnt take much to rehydrate. Wet towel or quick dunk and cover with plastic. Keep checking it. I actually rehydrated a bobcat that was suck on the board and kept it in the kitchen all week end. Told my wife it was very important for her to leave it there. This cold wet weather does not dry at all. Here is my rig for made out of a vent fan and pvc pipe. Basement is 60 degrees.
