Two more days left to sign up.
The meals served by the host (Habitat Flats) is second to none. Last time we dined on prime rib, steaks, steak burgers, and it was all first class. Sleeping accomidations are single rooms with showers.

Sounds gracious but it is clear up by Swan Lake.

Yup. Matter of fact that is where traps will be set. Our district has a good relationship with the fellas that manage Swan Lake.

Used to know some old Swan Lake duck hunters that are long gone. One of them told a tale of getting up at 3am to leave KCKS to drive to Swan Lake. When he got there, he grabbed his Model 12 shotgun out of the case and realized he left the barrel on the kitchen table. Them old timers believed in cleaning before and after.

Used to hunt it hard years ago. They'd have a check station set up at the junction of HWY 11 and 24 in Brunswick. The caught a lot of folks at it.
Those were the heydays of duck and goose season.

I have a painting at home of some hunters in a blind at Swan Lake. There are geese flying by and an eagle in the tree and deer standing around. The lady that painted it says it was a true story from her being there with her husband.

Although I didn't attend this year, it looks like it was a great success with attendance of 25 beginners. If you have face book you can see pictures on Missouri trappers or missouri trappers district 7 pages.
