Years ago, I bought like 50 trap tags stamped in brass and still have some. I used to take expired licenses and cut my name out and use them for trotlines and stringers. I have used an electric engraver to write on things including traps. I found a roll of brass banding that is 1/2 wide and beer can thick so I decided to buy a set of alpha/numeric stamps. Years ago, I made a stamp that said "mk" that I have used. Current tags I have say MK and my conservation number. Reason for mk is so I a CA has a clue as to who that Cons# is.
My question for all the boys and girls-Is the MDOC accepting just a Conservation number on anything that requires tags??? They specifically worded it was okay on traps and trotlines but what about treestands and stringers and unattended poles. Gutted deer?

I have brass tags from three different addresses. Any that I get from here on will just have the number. If they are legal for traps and trotlines, don't know why it wouldn't be for everything else too.

Yes legal for everything that needs a tag. I have my conservation number on all my rod and reels incase I want to use more than three.

I have a couple tags I made out of Expired licenses that I put on unattended deer. On tools I just wrote my name with an engraving pencil. I thought I could start stamping some homemade knives before I temper them.
