Anyone tried the round body grip traps? If so, are they worth the extra money?

I saw them 20 years ago and flipped. Awesome I thought. Bought some. Not any better than regular coni's. Inventor is some big shot on trapperman. In fact, maybe they are worse because they wont stand by themselves. They are well made....

I haven't tried them. They have been around for a while though. I like using stabilizers if I can rather than hunting around for the right size sticks. Doesn't look like they would fit.

They are cute. I would like to have a little itty bitty size #0 for trapping barn rats in holes. Also wondered if a bobcat would ever stick its paw down a pvc with one in it. To me, RBG stands for roast beef gravy. SPEAKING OF CONI STANDS, I am tired of playing Paul Bunyon when I set 330's with sticks. Who has a good 330 stand or a good design for one? I got stands for my 110s for muskrat and love them.

I bought some from Hal Sullivan years ago. They come in three sizes I think. No tall stand type, but they come in a 330 size. Basically, a flat slat with two other slats attached to each side. two spikes go through the whole thing and stick in the mud. Once you see them they're pretty easy to make yourself. I had a problem losing them sometimes when the critter fired the trap. Drilled a small hole in them and ran a piece of 14 ga wire from there to the trap chain. Does a pretty good job and no searching for sticks.

Krank, I started using the KB stabilizers. Have worked well with all my trap sizes so far from 220-330. Make sure you make cable tethers.

Cables to attach trap to stand or tethers to go to a separate stake? I would think a partially caught beaver would drag off the stand with the trap if it wasnt staked separately.

I make a cable tether and it attaches stand to same cable trap is attached to.

Found a down side to round BG's. Reading where a guy up north reported pelt damage with fishers and martens. The spring eyes travel the curve and pinch. On squares the the spring eyes go straight down and straight up. Things that make you go "huh".
