Any of you fellas use this product yet? Was wondering how quick it dries. Supposedly it doesn't turn milky like Fullmetal jacket does when used in water.

Not me John. I am cheap and make speed dip out of rustoleum and mineral spirits.
I take snares and boil them in walnut to take the shine off and destroy any factory oil. Never took real good care of snares as they are somewhat disposable.
I bought a bag of quick links from Dale at the Niangua thing. They were shiny. Put them in a jar and covered with water. Added one spoon full of muriatic acid and ten minutes later they were dull grey. Rinsed off and put away. Pretty much same results as soaking in vinegar except it cost a nickle instead of a couple dollars.
It appears the jury is still out on the product as I see no reviews. Idea sounds good. Protect and reduce friction....

Mike the Mo. river water is very hard on metals. Don't really know why it is harder on stuff than the rest of the waterways in Mo. but it is. Snares not making a catch the season before show signs of corrosion the next. What you see is on the outside and I'm sure in between the strands has some damage. I've always just weathered cable for other varmints, even in the creeks.

John, Did you ever find something to coat with? I would think you could wax a snare then hang it and hit it with a hot air gun to get all the excess off of it.. Might make them snappier on the preload too.

Haven't heard any feedback on the stuff yet and I E-mailed the company but haven't heard back yet. Guess they don't want to sell any lol. Mike I always load my snares when I build them but beaver snares don't really need it. Them things lumber through them like a tank.

Have you ever used Formula One? I'm not a dipper, so they are all unknowns; but Newt wrote a book on snares and works around salt/brackish water all the time, so if it works for him it might stand up to the big muddy www.snareone.com/formulaone.html

Trevis I have. May go with it but supposedly it is a little thicker coating than this other stuff.
