I'm hanging onto the sliver of hope that a deal can be made. Nafa owes me about $70 and two red foxes.

I'm hoping my guy in Nebraska is still afloat. He treated well last year.

I see FHA has came out and addressed the issue as well as Gronewald. It may take a year or two to get all the new hoops in place to jump thru to sell fur, but there are buyers in the play.
Jim, you going to start back up as a FHA pickup?

I am serious about questioning if possums will be worth anything.

I'm not going to waste my time with them. Still trying to decide if I'm even going to finish fur this year or just sell green.

GFW buys dried opossum, call to find out value I guess; but if he is buying them others are too. Small or black usually aren't worth the time but three years in a row NAFA sold mine at ~$6 ea for big "ordinary color". They also kept one that got damaged en-route 3-4 years and then sold it for fifty cents. That possum probably cost them $50-100 in handling and paper work, I called when it showed damaged on the second sale (wasn't damaged first time) and asked/told them to toss it and I was told bluntly that they would hold it until it sold. Not surprising that they developed money issues.
So, has anyone dealt with Peterman or with Wynn?

When I met Greg Shroeder a couple of years ago, I asked him to criticize my fur. He was taking a load for Jim to NAFA. He said my fur was fine. Then he made the comment my possums will bring more than my coons. And they did. Old Ray Milligan used to say his possums paid his gas and hotel. That was back when gas was 50 cents and no tell motels were $20 but still he makes a point. Waste not want not.

Montgomery Fur in Ogden, Utah will buy your fur or trade for supplies, I've always been happy with them. Doren Miller in NE Mo is a good man to deal with and I heard he will trade also.

Doren is a good and fair buyer. Just hope NAFA hasn't burned him like they done others. Ropps comes to mind.
The MTA auction is another great place to sell, especially if you have finished fur.

Overnight trips to any of those from down here in Lapland. I guess any buyer that has goods at NAFA is up against it right now. AR auction might end up my best avenue.
