It might be cold or it might be 90 degrees. Really nice down there. Great campground. You can swim or fish or just sit by the fire in a chair. Some demos and trading going on. I go every year.

We have had tents all over the group area to just a few. When fur prices fell the ones just out for the money quit showing. Always a good time though. My favorite memory so far was a few years ago. We were all sitting around the fire one night and a yearing deer ran into the back of Pops chair while he was in it.😂

I remember Don broadsiding the wild hog so he just brought it along to roast. For a couple of years, I set up archery for the kids. (young and old) One year, I brought my folding boat and put an outboard on it and took it up the river. My son used to bring his friends along and they stayed up all night doing who knows what. One year we had a pack of armadillos. Carlis brings his peddling wagon sometimes. One year some goomer showed up with a bunch of catch sticks and wanted $35 apiece for them. Nobody bought any. The guy thought he invented them. Last year, an 80 year old man rolled in from St. Joe. Did not know anybody but we were all glad he came and enjoyed what he had to say.

Yall were having a great conversation about horses v. mules and also talked about how he trapped up around St. Joe. My wife and kids loved playing around out there as well.

I enjoyed it greatly the year I was able to make it! Just might come down this year as I'm scheduled to be off that weekend. I'll see in a month or so.

FYI,
As of right now, the bridge coming from the south on J is being rebuilt. Supposed to be done Aug 30th. HOWEVER, we all know these things run over most of the time...
Check MODOT before heading out if you plan to come from the south.

About hell! it bounced off the back of my chair I was sittin in lol. Fun times! No one would of believed that happened but there was about 15 or so people sitting there when it happened so I had plenty of eye witnesses lol.
