What's the best & easiest way? I bought a bunch of traps that seem to have way too much on them. They're double longspring & when you turn the springs for the jaw to lay flat, give them a minute & the springs slide back out straight.

Pot of water. Insert traps. Boil for 5 minutes. Let cool. Remove wax from top. Remove traps. Do with traps as u wish. Save wax for future use.

They're double longspring & when you turn the springs for the jaw to lay flat, give them a minute & the springs slide back out straight. That may require tweaking the upper eye of the springs just so that there is a slight low spot where you want jaw to rest at desired angle. I've seen traps that had a slight dimple at that point, don't know if that was factory or trapper added. wax melts at lower temperature than water boils and it floats, so follow trky's instructions and you should be good.

The larger stronger longies have that set dimple from the factory.
