# 2 Montgomery Step in

Does anyone know anything about these traps? I've read good & bad online about them. Everything from bad jaw tips & frames to rounded jaw faces causing pull outs to best trap ever made.

Never used the #2 but have some #1 1/2 that I've had for several years. Anything that gets it's foot in them is caught and will be there when I check.

You need to make a distinction here are they-new traps or made in mahaffey pa traps ? New ones are made by Victor the new victor company . Buy montgomeries made in mahaffey pa if you want good ones .

You basically bought victors . Victor always was a cheap trap and the company now is even worse . Have you looked at no bs traps ? The 1 1/2 mahaffey pa ones are the smallest profile of any trap that size , made with American steel from johnstown plant of Bethlehem steel

I also forgot suddenvalley supply has a trap that is dogless I don’t know if it’s in a number 2 size though . I would wait till the national and you can get your hands on all the different traps and compare them .

I'll be able to tell you more when I get them. They are coming from Utah so it'll be a little bit before they get here. I mailed payment yesterday. From the pictures, they look well built. If they aren't coyote worthy, I'll be in the market for some MB550s at the NTA & I'll make these water traps.

Sorry I hadn't gotten back to this post. They are the ones made in Mahaffey PA. I'm going to pass them down to my 13 year old daughter.
