Does anyone know anything about them? I've never handled any. Just curious how they compare to Victor or Duke?

Their leg holds seemed better than the run of the mill. They cost more too.

I have some Sleepy Creek #11DJ, they are as good as any #11, I guess. Not used any other SC traps. At one time I read about some frame bending problem with their #3 and #4 long springs- their solution was to recommend using setters instead of over the leg setting on these traps, that attitude towards problems did not satisfy me.they still have that recommendation on their site so I assume they still have crappy bases on the #3&4LS.

American made by a small group of trappers. Read up.... scmtraps.com/I hate dukes. I got some that I had to mod to make them usable. Victor used to be the best 75 years ago but lately not so good. I suppose you can always find somebody to say something bad about anything. (I used to work with a guy that hated Fridays because they put you one day closer to Monday) I was surprised to hear Tom say the SC 330s sucked but I value Toms opinion.

They (SC) are the only trap company that says right out that hand setting the traps will damage the frames, that is not anyone looking for something bad to say , that is them. You're right, if Tom Olson tells me that any water trap sucks, I don't need to know any more about it. I'd like to try some of those Victors with the Montgomery dogless pans on them, been told they are fine; but I guess I don't need any more traps than I have.

Don't want Dukes, not a huge fan of Bridger, Victors are expensive. They will be on public ground so I may be better off buying Dukes & working them over. Trying to plan a water line for long weekends next year. I'll be trapping by boat. Otter, mink, coon & rats. Figured the 1.5 would cover them all on drowners.

Oh yeah. I'm not in a big hurry. I like to do my research & know what I want then try to find it at the best possible price. NTA is in Springfield in July. I've got a little time. 😁

Clay Creech is the guy krank is referring to. I'm sure he'll have used traps at the Nationals or you can contact him before then if you need to. As many used traps out there it seems silly tobuy new.
