Only that it will be September 14th, 15th at the Commons in Salem, Missouri. In the past that info is usually available a day or two before it happens. I suspect some of the arrangements are made at the last moment. There is a name and number to call for camp reservations on the MTA blog.

Haven't seen one but know Lesel Reuwsaat is doing a demo. Not sure what day but he will have a booth as well, so he will be there all weekend.

I didn't use up 2015s supplies yet, and if fur stays low may not this year either. Big turn out or no? Going back tomorrow for the meeting?

Seemed a lil slow to me. Finishing food plots today. No meeting for me. Not a member anymore.

What is the difference between food plots and bait?

The work involved in prepping food plots vs just dumping on the ground.
If u grow it, it's not bait. I do get ur point but there is a huge time investment and mother nature factors that can affect food plots. Unlike just buying grain and dumping it on the ground.

One day, when I get a large parcel of land, I'll grow grain and either leave it or mow it down just for the wildlife.

I heard of a guy that did just that, because he was next to a field of Monsanto round up ready corn, and he wasn't gonna let those bastards take his crop.

what do you mean take his crop?

Monsanto claims , and won in court, that their proprietary "Round up Ready" seed is THEIR property, and if crops in an adjacent field show the DNA, that the crop belongs to them. AND on top of that, they won't let you save seed for planting next year.

Never ever heard of a farmer getting his crop seized. Lots of farmers use bootleg round up ready beans. Only drawback is they lose their Monsanto guarantee. Technically it is illegal but I have never seen or heard of any police action on this. Its kind of like copying a movie or tearing the label off your mattress.

I'd think that if their corn pollinated my corn I'd sue them for damages.

Was anybody at the rondy forecasting fur prices?

There didn't seem a lot of positivity concerning the ur prices Mike. Matter of fact there was talk of beaver prices need to be adjusted down some. Any cheaper and they'll have to pay us to take them. On a positive note, there were 3 new regulation changes proposed to the MDC by rules and regs committee. First was to allow snares half in and half out of water like body grip traps. Second was 48 hour check on drowner sets like the bogy grip regulation. Third was create a lifetime trapping permit as we have with hunting and fishing. These were presented to the MDC back in July and we may hear something from them around January. Folks like to piss and moan about the MTA but as you can see we are working on behalf of Mo. trappers.
