We are trying to reserve a cabin up there that weekend. Wife and kids will be with me because she will be super duper pregnant by that time and not going to leave her alone with 4 curtain climbers. If all goes well, I will get to be up there to enjoy the weekend. Trkyslyr, I will bug you when you get back to see what to expect up there and to see where me and the family can best contribute.

I think the cabins are electric but no plumbing. There is a shower house at the office.

Yeah. We should be there as long as everything is going well with the wifey. Talked to the camp ground today and they said we should be okay for the reservation. Looking forward to it. .

I have a few of the guys interested in coming to check it out this year. They've been wanting to learn about putting up fur ( hands on). I told them I would donate some coon hides for them to learn with. Was thinkin trapper weekend would be a good time for them to learn. If anyone that's going to be there that weekend that has room to bring fleshing beams and knives, it would be highly appreciated. I am bringing mine, but would be better if there was more than one for them to use. I don't really have a head count at this time, but I'm gonna say between 2 to 6 are really interested in learning to trap and put up fur and might be coming to check out what I've been saying about you guys lol.

I'll be there. I'll bring a couple little coons I threw in the freezer last year for demos. I can bring some fur handling stuff and finally use that cool hitch beam attachment '340 made for me.

Love those hitch accessories. I don't have a receiver hitch on my ranger. I made a bolt on tube just so I could hook my skinning rig on ranger bumper. I welded a big bolt to the right sized tube. It goes in the hitch ball hole. I would never tow with it. Its just an anchor. Here is my old wooden rig and it wouldn't take much to make one out of steel tube. Would fit anything with stake holes.

I'm not gonna do "sketty red" this year for the Friday night meal. I'm gonna do tater soup instead. Got a good recipe I can make up the day before so I only have to heat it up. Wasn't enough people there last year on Friday, so me and Jim just did hotdogs lol.

We play it by ear. If some veteran trappers show up we get into advanced demos and if newbies show up we do the basics. I remember one year, Don ran over a hog and brought it along and he improvised a grill and cooked the whole thing. Jim has those wonderful tomatoes. People catch fish right out of camp. Dale (?)brings 10 dozen eggs. People show up with traps for sale.

The plan is some of the guys will bring along night vision equipment if anyone wants to check it out. I think "Top" is planning to ride with me and be there Friday, wont know about the others till it gets closer to that time. If you showed up at the Laurie clinic you might remember Top, he came with me that day and enjoyed it, especially liked Dave's put up demo.

We play it by ear. If some veteran trappers .... You made a post yesterday on Aug 3, 2018. The time stamp was wrong. It gave the date as Aug 4 and the wrong time too. I thought there was a setting in our profile that would allow us to change the GMT. Yours is showing -5. It should be -6 for Central time. It's weird....
