I wonder if the results get posted somewhere. Last year, somebody posted the results on here (Big John?) in a typed out form. You know I am hoping for "decent" at least.

Big Bad John rocks! He is the guru of pissing off and taking care of yotes, that is for sure. I admire trappers who have a plan and care about our environment.
If I were a MO trapper or even a fur dealer who finished furs I would take my catch to Montgomery City sale every year. Promise the folks who buy it will not be selling to FHA or NAFA. They have plans beyond the international markets. Thank goodness. That is why there is still a little fur moving around.
I love finishing furs but realized it is a waste of time so prob am done with it. Buy em and sell em for the same price if they are green coon. Sometimes I lose a pence or two but that is fine with me. We gotta keep harvesting or the critters will be gone.
Big Bad John rocks!

Other markets, not international. I know they are out there but never hear who they are. 75 years ago, there was a big domestic use of fur. Every body chickened out on fur in the US.

50 years ago there was 'coon tails on antennas, well now the cars get the music from cell towers or satellites.
Other markets, possum dolls and hangers for rendezvous.

I used to have 1950 advertisements that said every house wife deserves a mink coat or a fox stole and a good husband buys her one. Americans are the only people in the world that don't wear fur.

I used to have 1950 advertisements that said every house wife deserves a mink coat or a fox stole and a good husband buys her one. Americans are the only people in the world that don't wear fur. Hope the auction went well. I need to go sometime but always have my buying dates set before I discover the MTA date. Always buying somewhere on that day. But, I doubt if I would be a player but would def bid furs up a bit more. I bought over 3000 worth of furs yesterday in Poplar Bluff. OMG it was a mess. Lots of whole stuff which really fills up the pickup quickly. 28 otters and 22 cats and tons of 1-2 dollar green coons and tons of yotes. The real trappers are trapping this year and no riff raff trying to get rich quick! haha Great to buy from some young kids. One 11 year old trapper brought in exactly $100 worth of furs she trapped. She was pretty happy. One young 14 year old boy brought in quite a load. He shook my hand and thanked me when he left. Good people trapping this year. I call the folks I am buying from this season the REAL trappers. They love trapping and enjoy sharing their sets and stories. Hope the results will be posted fairly soon. I am sure Big Bad John will post them if someone doesn't beat him to the punch. It would be nice to see a break down. A $200 whole bobcat can really skew the averages. That confuses lots of us simple folks.
