Get east or south of springfield and gigs are common. I got one in Eminence and went to the lumber yard and they sold 12 ft poles for gigs. I took it home and ran a rivet through the gig head and epoxied the head on and gave the wood about 5 coats of linseed oil. haven't destroyed it in ten years. (Moderate use)

Actually just found out from a guy a lot of the gig sold in the Southeastern part of the state are made in Springfield and shipped out there there's not very many guys around they're forging them anymore. But I would like to try one of those fiberglass poles right now I'm using the wooden ones I use a longer than 12 ft poles oh my shortest pole is 14 ft in my longest is 16
